Gene Frumkin

Variations on the Taste
of Dried Apricots

Tongue and palate are darkly lit
by the afterglow of the dried apricot
in its sour sunset.
An ear
heard on the lips:
the sound
is soft and round.
The dark orange gong,
struck by the tooth,
vibrates on the tongue.
